Rocks and Tiles and Bricks, Oh My!

I have been pretty busy since my last post. I’ve expanded from just rocks to tile, and have obtained a heavy-duty vinyl cutter for the heavier resist. I just finished sandcarving a Pet Memorial on a 12×12 black granite tile. It turned out really well and the customer was very impressed with the finished memorial.

A request for clay bricks just came in earlier today. These will be bricks that will be for fundraising by a local charity. I have some samples blasted using both clay and concrete bricks. The clay bricks sandblast a lot better than the concrete ones. However, both look great. I hope that they accept my quote so I can get started with them.

My wife, Cindi, and I just returned from visiting my Mom and Sister in Northern California. I took a couple of garden rocks up there that I sandcarved for them. They both loved the rocks and, in fact, I think I may have introduced the sandcarving bug to my Sister!! If she gets started, she will have a huge supply of nice river rocks available to her since she lives near some old gold dredging sites.
